How many questions are in the General Ability: General Mental Ability MCQ bank? +

33 questions, published of 35 printed items (book Q1-35, pp. 789-791), renumbered sequentially 1-33. Two items are dropped, never guessed: Q4, whose symbol-substitution value is not among the printed options under any consistent operator reading (the standard cycle gives 179, not 270, 240, 170 or 200), and Q30, whose true displacement is 3 km, which is not among its printed options (6, 12, 33, 60 km).

What does the General Mental Ability bank cover? +

Odd-one-out groups (materials and metals), a colour-name code, a blood-relation statement, a symbol-substitution sum, a meaningful-word puzzle from GOURMANDISE, a letter-code pair (EXTRA/NOSE and ACQUIRE), letter-pair counting in EXAMINATION, and a 27-element letter/number/symbol arrangement used for five questions (symbols after consonants, position groups, vowels after symbols, a start-end series, and a seventh-to-the-right position). It also covers direction sense from a rotated map, league-match counting, pass-percentage bounds, standing-together permutations, age and richness orderings, a train-and-tunnel length, a books puzzle, a standing-row puzzle, a two-row seating puzzle, a percentage test total, a cuboid opposite face, a doubling basket, coin and note subset sums, a foot-and-bicycle journey, a true/false sequence count, a greatest-common-divisor rod cutting, a certainly-true village statement, and counting numbers in which 4 occurs exactly once.

Are the answers verified? +

Yes. Every published answer was re-solved from scratch and checked against the book's printed Answer Key on p. 791. Thirty-two answers agree with the key and one is a book-key override, published as the verified standard answer: Q13 is None, not One, because the arrangement's vowels are E (after %, before R), A (after D, before 2) and U (after •, before H), and none is both preceded by a symbol and followed by a number. The two dropped items (Q4 and Q30) are documented in the notes rather than guessed.

Which other exams does this bank help with? +

General mental ability items of this form appear in FPSC, PPSC, NTS, OTS and other one-paper exams, as well as CSS MPT-style reasoning sections, so the bank is tagged for all of them.
